    Digital picture frames are usually offered in 7 to 12 inch sizes. They are commonly made with LCD screens and have a wooden or metal frame. Sam’s Club sells a variety of frame sizes including travel models that are easy to transport while on the road.

    How do I get my pictures onto the Digital Picture Frame?

    There are a few ways to get your photos to be displayed on the digital screen. These ways are specific to the product purchased. Most frames offer a USB connection. With a USB cord, you can connect the frame to your computer and transport the picture files over to store and display on the digital frame. Another common method is with a memory card. There are a number of different memory cards available. The Digital Picture Frame usually accepts Secure Digital (SD) cards, Compact Flash (CF) cards, Photo Media Cards, Memory Sticks (MS), Multimedia Cards (MMC), and XD Cards. Another picture loading option is the use of Wi-Fi. This is the new “no strings attached” alternative. If you have Wi-Fi in your home or office, you can connect and set up your Digital Picture Frame to pull pictures from one of your online photo galleries (ex- Kodak, Flickr, Picasa, etc). Not all frames have these options available. Be sure to read the storage specifications for the frame you plan to purchase to see what capabilities are included.

    What should I look for when it comes to the quality of the Digital Picture Frame?

    Quality can be measured in the interface and size, as well as the PCB (device software). The panel can have either an analog or digital interface and is typically made with an LCD screen. Most 7 inch models show images at 430 x 234 pixels while 12 inch models display 800 x 600 pixels. Although the pixel size can contribute to the quality of the photo displayed, there are other factors such as the color, brightness, blurriness of the picture, and the aspect ratio. If the image is stretched to meet an aspect ratio inconsistent with the size of the picture, a distortion can occur. As for the PCB, the frame could be built with a number of software features or specifications to up the quality of the product.
